Spaghetti with creamy mushroom sauce Empty
PostSubject: Spaghetti with creamy mushroom sauce   Spaghetti with creamy mushroom sauce EmptyMon Aug 13, 2012 11:44 pm

I tried this with DS yesterday and he enjoyed it so much I thought I'd share.

Ingredients
  • Spaghetti, cooked (and cut into ideal size for your LO)
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped (I used a red one for the slightly sweeter taste)
  • 1 small clove garlic, crushed and peeled
  • 3-4 mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of soured cream
  • Ground nutmeg
  • Mixed dried herbs

Method

Lightly fry garlic and onion until onion is tender. Add mushrooms and continue to fry until lightly coloured.

Move off the heat and add cream whilst stirring. Add a little nutmeg and a pinch of herbs then return pan to a low heat.

Stir continuously until cream has slightly reduced then add spaghetti, stir in until fully mixed and finish reducing cream.

Once the sauce is thick and creamy and the dish is heated through, serve.

This can be made with chicken as well, simply add with onions and garlic and cook though thoroughly and slightly browned before adding any cream.
