Woman banned from Facebook Empty
PostSubject: Woman banned from Facebook   Woman banned from Facebook EmptyTue Jul 31, 2012 8:19 am

A woman was banned from Facebook for a week by posting a controversial breastfeeding picture.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

General overview of it is a woman's 5 year old daughter started "breastfeeding" her 2 year old son. She took a picture because she thought it was cute and posted it on facebook.

A load of people complained and she was banned for a week.

What are your thoughts on this? Wrong or Cute?

I think it's cool that the little girl has that mindset...but I personally wouldn't have posted the picture publicly (none of my pictures are anyway), especially due to the nature of the picture. I can see how it can be taken in a not so tasteful manner.

I think it's not very right to be honest, that photo looks almost like something some horrible people would get kicks from. I think breast feeding is a wonderful thing but when a child is that age, as in the daughters age I'm not so sure it's so healthy mentally to feed a child from the breast, I think it delays their independent emotional development.
I know there is no harm by what the daughter has done, but that photo could be taken in so many different ways and therefore it should never have been posted online.
A mother feeding a baby is one thing, I have no issues with seeing pictures of a mum breast feeding a baby but that just looks so wrong. If she was trying to feed a doll then it wouldn't have looked so bad or so wrong.

I agree with you on this Charlotte.

Also, this picture doesn't help change the thoughts of those who think of breasts in a purely sexual manner.

If it were my kids, I probably wouldn't think it was cute. I'd probably have a giggle about it but I definitely wouldn't take a picture and post it on something like Facebook.

There is nothing about that photo that makes me think cute, I'm sorry to say. I think had it not been photographed and just witnessed it wouldn't have been so bad if you know what I mean? But that photo sparks off all kinds of nasties in my head however innocent the photo is, there is nothing right about a girl lifting her top and allowing her brother to suck her chest. Infact the more I think about it, the more I try to put myself in the parents shoes I think it would disturb me if I saw my children do this!

I actually think that A. The girl should have been explained to that BF is for Mommies with babies and stopped. and B. How long did this continue for them to go get a camera? Was she encouraged to "do it again" to get the shot? So wrong. And I agree that it is the kind of picture that pervs get off on.

Not very appropriate for the public domain, but breastfeeding is nothing more than a taboo after a certain age.

It's wrong because there's kids on facebook, and they shouldn't being exposed to any nudity whatsoever. They shouldn't even being allowing their kids to do that at their age.
